What earth is this
so in want of you
they rise up on high
to seek you in heaven?
Look at them staring
at You
right before their eyes,
unseeing, unseeing,
so very blind.
His death is described by Fariuddin Attar as a heroic act, as when they are taking him to court, a Sufi asks him:”What is love?” He answers: “You will see it today, tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow.” They killed him that day, burned him the next day and threw his ashes to the wind the day…
I saw my Lord with the Eye of my heart,
And I said: Truly there is no doubt that it is You.
It is You that I see in everything;
And I do not see You through anything (but You)
